Displaying tour dates on Tumblr

Last Updated: Mar 15, 2016 03:24PM PDT

To use our Javascript plugin on Tumblr, you need to first change your post settings to use plain text/HTML. To do this go to https://www.tumblr.com/settings/dashboard, find the option to “Edit posts using…”, and select “plain text/HTML”.

Next you need to separate the javascript part of the code from the HTML, and put the script into the header by doing the following:
1. Edit page on which you want to display tour dates and make sure HTML is enabled.
2. Paste your specific widget code, such as

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://widget.bandsintown.com/javascripts/bit_widget.js'></script><a href="http://www.bandsintown.com/Bayside" class="bit-widget-initializer" data-artist="Bayside">Bayside Tour Dates</a>

3. Highlight from "<script ..." to "</script>"
4. Ctrl+X or Cmd+X to cut this part of the code
5. Save your page with only the "<a..." code
6. Click Edit HTML
7. Find the end of the header section by using Ctrl+F or Cmd+F to search within the HTML window, and type "</head>" with no quotes
8. Before the end of the header section (</head>) use Ctrl+V or Cmd+V to paste the "<script..." code that you cut before
9. Save the changes

Additionally, the Amplify Tumblr theme natively supports Bandsintown. To install the theme, go to http://www.tumblr.com/theme/33176. To learn more about Bandsintown integration within the theme, check out this blog post.
